We have had a nice day today.
We were both quite tired, but we anted to see our little girl, and a few beautiful winks perked us both up. Katy was like a proper baby today, although a third of the size! She had a few sleeps, a few wriggles and some tantrums when her nappy needed changing!!
The medics think that her duct has closed already, but will still finish her treatment. Her blood pressure has gone up and she is on the absolute minimal ventilation, but her oxygen levels have remained high, even though she is breathing air.
The next step is taking the tube out (again) and putting her back on CPAP, they will probably do this tomorrow. Hopefully Katy will do a lot better this time round.
We'll let you know...

We are all sharing your relief that Katy is coming through her earlier trials. Your deepening relationship with your little daughter is beautifully portrayed in your messages. Thank you Mark and Leanne for letting us share your joys and anxieties. It means so much to us - with love, Granny
Its 2.30am and I've been up with my little one for a couple of hours now (hungry...windy...then hungry again!). Reading your happy news has made my night! I am so pleased all is going well and that you are both so clearly loving being parents. What a lucky little girl Katy is to have you both.

Wow, that duct medicine sounds great. Never heard of it before! Spent the other night over on neonates nursing a little one only slightly bigger than katy. Thought of you guys all night. Hope she does well on CPAP today, as before even if she has to go back on the vent, every time off is is time well spent for her muscles and lungs. Looking forward to seeing her this week. Love to you all, Catherine x
